The S. Vili
Spiazzo trail is one of the stages of the San Vili path, an SAT route of almost one hundred kilometres that is covered on foot from Madonna di Campiglio to Trento, emulating the evangelical mission of San Vigilio. The parish church of Spiazzo is dedicated to Saint Vigilius of Trent. Legend has it that on the banks of the Sarca river in Spiazzo, Saint Vigilius of Trent was martyred on 26 June 405 AD, after encountering pagans furious at the idea of being evangelised.

Spiazzo and Val Rendena are at the heart of the largest protected area in Trentino.
